How we help

Africause is a community-based organisation dedicated to empowering individuals and families through culturally responsive and holistic support services.
We speak six languages fluently and deeply understand the cultural and religious needs of our diverse communities. Every day, we work hand-in-hand with newly arrived refugees, young people, families, and vulnerable individuals to build a better, safer, and more connected Victoria.

Our Mission

To empower African and refugee communities through social inclusion, education, justice, and wellbeing.

Our Vision

A united and resilient community where everyone has access to opportunity, respect, and safety.

Hear From Our Families
& Supporters

When my family arrived from Nigeria, everything felt overwhelming. This organization helped us find housing, enroll our children in school, and navigate services we didn’t even know existed. They didn’t just help us settle, they helped us feel at home in Australia.

Amara Okonkwo

New Australian, Melbourne

I’ve been volunteering with this charity for two years now. Seeing newly arrived African families build their lives here in Australia is incredibly rewarding. The organisation’s approach is respectful, practical, and truly focussed on empowering families to thrive.

David Nguyen

Community Volunteer

I came to Australia five years ago with nothing. This charity helped me with English classes, job placement support, and connecting with other Sudanese families. Now I have a stable job and my kids are doing well in school. I’m forever grateful.

Fatima Hassan

Sudanese-Australian, Brisbane

Supporting this charity has been one of the most meaningful things I’ve done. Knowing my donations directly help African refugee families start fresh lives in Australia, with dignity and support, makes me proud to be part of this community.

Jennifer Williams

Donor, Perth

The cultural orientation programmes were a lifesaver for my family. They helped us understand Australian systems whilst respecting our culture and traditions. The staff genuinely care and go above and beyond to ensure families succeed.

Emmanuel Deng

South Sudanese-Australian, Adelaide

Our company sponsors this organisation because they deliver real results. They’re helping African families integrate successfully into Australian society whilst maintaining their cultural identity. Their impact on our multicultural community is remarkable.

Kate Robertson

Corporate Partner, Melbourne

From airport pickup to finding our first home, this charity was there every step. They connected us with the local African community and helped my wife find work. Australia feels like home now, thanks to their support.

Abdi Mohamed

Somali-Australian, Sydney
